Stephen
W. Batzell, CFA, and Ruby Y. Chou formed the firm in January 1996 to create
and manage portfolios designed to meet the unique requirements of each
client. Understanding our clients is just as important to us as understanding
the markets. We establish enduring relationships with our clients, based
on the trust and confidence that come from timely, sound and productive
advice.
Stephen Batzell, CFA, is chief investment officer and primary client service contact. Steve has over twenty years of investment experience working with individuals, families, investment firms and large pension plans. Previous business experience includes investment and general management positions at Manchester Capital Management, Director of ING/Baring Securities, and Vice President at State Street Bank. Among various community activities, Steve is Treasurer of the Pleasant Street Congregational Church. Educational background includes a Masters of Science in Management from the Sloan School, MIT, a Master's degree from Harvard Graduate School of Education and a BA from Haverford College. <stephenb@abacusadvisors.net> Ruby
Chou is head of accounting and advises clients on tax matters. Previous
business experience includes chief financial officer of Building material
Industries, a manufacturer of industrial products and managing accounting
and shareholder services for the Yankee Funds' Limited Partnerships. Educational
background includes a Master's degree in Finance from the University of
Scranton and a degree in Banking and Insurance from Taipei University
